Description

True dancing is always burning

This workshop will be led by Liliya Burdinskaya and me, exploring movement, presence and transformation in the space between contemporary dance and butoh. Whether butoh or contemporary dance, true dancing is always burning. But what does that mean? Where do you burn—and how?

This is a question of life itself: how intensely do you feel alive, and how does life burn within you as you dance—each step moving toward death.

In this workshop, we will dive into this inner fire through movement, emotional exploration, dreaming, and metamorphosis. Blending butoh and contemporary dance, Liliya and me invite you to expand your expressive range, deepen your physical awareness, and encounter new states of being.

Join us in an immersive process of transformation—where the body becomes a site of intensity, presence, and continuous becoming.
